Inspired by the graffiti culture of 70's in New York City, Zoo York's name originates from a subway tunnel which runs through Central Park Zoo. Known to those in the know in the graffiti scene simply as Zoo York, it was the gathering ground of every of New York's city graffiti crews. Zoo York as a skateboarding company was founded in 1993, and was one of the few East Coast skateboarding companies. Today, Zoo York's streetwear clothing takes its inspiration from its graffiti roots, and its proud New York City heritage.
