Background

Rebel8 was founded back in 2003 from the rich street culture of San Francisco. This label has been artist-driven from the very beginning with the initial artwork carried out by legendary graffiti and tattoo artist Mike Giant.

In the late 1990’s Giant was one of San Francisco’s most notorious and active graffiti and tattoo artists.  His unique style soon attracted attention worldwide and he enjoyed several successful shows in Paris, New York, London, Melbourne, Tokyo and Barcelona.

Giant met up with brains behind the popular street art website HiFiArt, Joshy D. Joshy D already had experienced in the fashion industry (with street clothing company Teamwolf) and approached Giant to design a series of hand illustrated t-shirts. Joshy D. sold these designs around the city and they were soon in fierce demand.  The seed for a new cutting edge clothing brand was sown and from just $500 and a few bags of t-shirts Rebel8 was born.

Modern Day

Rebel8 is known one of the hottest streetwear brands out there with a devoted following across the globe. Joshy D. still runs the business side of the venture with Giant overseeing the creative drive.  As well as producing some of the hottest urban fashion designs on the market Rebel8 is also committed as a brand to maintaining the uniqueness of street culture style.

Street Style
